I’ve watched for this kit for quite some time, and finally managed to get my hands on it. But it’s a bit confusing talking to someone about the design because it has three different names, depending on which series you are talking about. In the Robotech Defenders universe, it’s known as the Gartan. In the Battletech universe, it’s called a TDR-5S Thunderbolt (per the Technical Readout 3025 book), and in the Fang of the Sun Dougram universe, where the design originated, it’s listed as an F4X Ironfoot. Regardless of the name, you don’t want to mess with it.

The model is molded in light gray and bluish-purple styrene and has recessed panel lines. The styrene is thick, like most kits from the early 1980’s, and can be a bit brittle. The kit includes a sheet of waterslide decals with markings for three Mechs. Armament includes an arm-mounted laser, a shoulder-mounted 9-tube rocket launcher, and chest-mounted smoke dischargers. Two figures are also provided: a pilot and a ground crewman.

The completed kit is 8.5 inches tall, per the description on the box.
