The universe of Babylon 5 had dozens of cool spaceships that appeared during the course of the series’ five-year story arc. Unfortunately for fans of the show, only two of those designs became licensed models - the Babylon 5 station itself, and the Staryfury Mark I, which was the standard fighter of the Earth Alliance.

The Starfury is a pretty decent kit, and builders do have options for additional customization. After-market kits exist to add lighting systems to the engines, and also a resin correction kit for the fighter’s primary armament. There are also quite a few decal sets to add additional markings to the fighter.

The kit itself is molded in gray styrene with raised panel lines. The sample kit, which was obtained at the Swap Meet at WonderFest 2010, is free of flash or sink marks. The kit is about 1:72 scale, so if you have built any of the Fine Molds Star Wars kits, then this kit is in scale with the X-Wing, Y-Wing, and the TIE Fighter kits.

Markings are included for five different Starfuries: Presidential Escort, Presidential Escort (Alternate Version), Black Omega Squadron (Psi Corps), Sea Witch, the personal fighter of Commander Susan Ivanova, and a generic Earthforce version with pretty much nothing more than EA markings and the ID number.
