The Oberth Class was first seen in the form of the ill-fated USS Grissom, commanded by Captain J. T. Esteban in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

Odyssey’s kit is composed of two resin pieces – the primary hull and the lower sensor array. The parts are pretty well cast, but some minor cleanup will be needed. The kit is about the same size as the old MicroMachines Oberth that was issued, and will make a nice addition to any 1:2500 scale fleet.

At the time of the writing of this review, a decal set does not exist for the Oberth, but a generic TMP-era decal sheet can be obtained from either www.starshipmodeler.com and www.pntmodels.com.

The Oberth measures 2.5 inches long, 1.1 inches wide, and just over 0.75 inches tall when completed.
