The Incom Corporation T-65 X-Wing Starfighter first appeared in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope in 1977. It later appeared in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The kit is molded in crisp white and light gray styrene, with additional red parts for some of the fuselage panels. This kit includes parts for two pilots - one standing and one sitting. It also includes posable versions of R2-D2 and R5-D4. Other accessories include both clear and clouded parts for the canopy window. Probably the neatest part, this set includes a Death Star Surface display base, as well as a Death Star Exhaust Port display piece so you can recreate the final, epic battle scene from the movie, with clear pink “proton torpedoes” which angle downward toward the Exhaust Port. The kit also has the option of being posed in landed configuration, with landing gears down and the canopy open.

Full markings are included in both sticker and waterslide decal format. This includes the cockpit framing and the panel details (red, yellow and dark/light gray) that are scattered around the ship. The “barber pole” blue and white striping is also provided for the wrapping around the main laser guns. Unfortunately, the stock model can only be displayed with markings for Luke Skywalker’s “Red 5” and, unlike the Fine Molds kit in the same scale, the Bandai kit does not include alternate parts to make it into another member of the Red Squadron.

The completed model is about 6.25 inches long and has a wingspan of 5.5 inches (with the S-Foils closed).

I’m looking forward to building this model, and I want to display it alongside the Fine Molds kit.
