NOTE: According to multiple online sources, Fine Molds has lost the license to produce Star Wars items and must cease all production by the end of 2014, when Bandai begins production under a new license. Although the Fine Molds models are still available, the status will be changing to “Discontinued” by the end of the year.

Although this ship began life as a Firespray Class patrol ship, it is now recognized and feared as the ship of one of the galaxy’s most notorious bounty hunters, Boba Fett. The design is antiquated, but Boba and his late father, Jango, kept updating and customizing the ship.

This kit will allow you to build Slave I as it appeared in The Empire Strikes Back. Fine Molds indicated that major changes from the first release include an almost completely new cockpit interior, as well as changes to the ship's underbelly (around the missile launchers). The earlier version of the ship, when it was piloted by Jango Fett in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, was released by Fine Molds in 2004.

The kit parts are finely molded (no pun intended) in gray styrene, and clear parts are included. The kit features two figures of Boba Fett: one seated in the cockpit, and a second standing figure. The completed model can be displayed in landed configuration, or a stand is provided for displaying it in flight configuration. A fold-out full-color sheet is also provided with detailed painting instructions, including color IDs and decal locations.

The review sample also included the First Production Limited cast-metal figure of Han Solo frozen in carbonite.

The completed model is about 12 inches long and the main body is 5.5 inches wide (not counting the wingspan).
