Title: Fine Molds 1:144 Millennium Falcon Kit - Pre-Order Now Available
Post by: Lonewolf on April 07, 2010, 10:47:23 AM
From www.hlj.com

"Love the Millennium Falcon, but are just too daunted by the size, complexity, or price of the magnificent (but now discontinued) 1/72-scale kit by Fine Molds? Well, Fine Molds themselves have the answer for you with this outstanding new kit of the Falcon in much more manageable 1/144 scale! As the math indicates, this kit is exactly half the size of its big brother, with a smaller parts count and a much lower price. Lower parts count doesn't mean it lacks detail though, as these test shots of the kit show (this is the very first test shot, so the final product may vary)! The kit features landing gear that can be displayed up or down, and includes clear parts with molded-in framework for the gunnery stations and cockpit (shown solid in these test shots). So, now there's no excuse to buy and build your own great Fine Molds Millennium Falcon! Grab yours while the grabbin's good!"

List price on the kit is $43.15 US, and the kit is scheduled for release in April 2010.

I ended up buying one of these kits at WonderFest from the Starship Modeler Store, and it's a real beauty.  I'll have the review article posted on the Database in the next couple of days.

If you'd like a smaller model of the Falcon that still has boatloads of detailing, seriously consider picking this kit up.  It doesn't have the opening boarding ramp like the larger 1:72 version, but it still has an incredible amount of detail for the size of the ship.

I'll include a link here when the review is posted.
